X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Spoilers/Rant?)

May contain minor spoilers, if you haven't seen it..

So, I watched the midnight showing of Wolverine...

Sucked. I don't even know if it's better than the third movie. Why Singer? Why did you not direct this the third movie or this one? X1 and X2 were awesome! -sobcries-

I went in the theater promising myself that I wouldn't make any movie-comic comparisons because face it, they're going to mess it up one way or another. I soo expected a darker take on his past. But no, huge let down.. D:

At first, I was wasn't happy because Gambit/Deadpool (and a handful of other mutants) aren't even part of Wolverine Origins (basing this on the comics, must go back to correct/confirm self later). But I went with it because I've wanted to see how those character would be portrayed. That was a tremendous waste of characters/actors. Ryan Reynolds (who plays Deadpool) and Taylor Kitsch (Gambit) were amazing, but I mean COME ON. Gambit, one of the characters people have been DYING to see since the first X-men movie, was only in it for what 10 DAMN MINUTES? What the hell man! And Deadpool, ARGH. Reynolds was definitely a good choice, he was nearly perfect, and then we find out that he's only there for a bit in the beginning and a cut of a short fight scene at the end (which still doesn't make sense to me, what the hell did they do to him?).

I heard that there were talks about a Gambit Origins, which I would die for, given that 1) Singer helms the movie, 2) Kitsch, as much as I love him, displays Gambit's lovely accent and trademark phrases (come on man! You're Canadian, you should know how to pronounce French words with ease), and 3) that the movie is daaaarrrrkkkkkkkeeeeerrrrrr.

Overall, it was okay, they did the best they could. But they could have done it way better.. If only they had Singer.. -sobcries even more-

So, anyone else watch it? Anyone else an avid comic book -not geek but- comic book educated person? Srsly, I've a whole wall and a half dedicated to housing all the comic books I've acquired. xD

Oh, btw, best line in the film: I'm Canadian. OHYEAH. Thankyou, Hugh Jackman for that one canon moment. C:
